The National Trust Eco Fund has launched a new initiative in the area of waste management and the concept of an integrated project “Towards efficient use of resources and a circular economy” under the LIFE Program of the European Commission has been approved.
The coordinating beneficiary to the project is NTEF, with the partnership of the Ministry of Environment and Water in the face of the Waste Management and Soil Conservation Directorate and the municipalities in whose territories the activities will be carried out.
The main objective of the project is to contribute to the implementation of the measures of the National Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria for waste management till 2020, as well as to the development, adoption and optimization of the implementation of the next plan.
The project will make a direct contribution to the implementation of the concept of a circular economy . Its implementation will lead to the introduction of recycling, reuse and recovery technology for secondary waste from domestic waste in accordance with the requirements of national and European legislation, which will have a beneficial impact both on the environment and on the economy and human well-being .
At present, NTEF and the Waste Management and Soil Protection Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Water are in the process of developing a full project proposal. The deadline for submission is set for 19 April 2018.
