Bicycle cinema in Cherni Osam, at the foot of the Central Balkan National Park

On June 8, 2023, the yard of the Natural Science Museum in the village of Cherni Osam turned into a real cinema, but in an unusual way – a bicycle cinema. Thanks to everyone who came from near and far, the evening became even more wonderful.

Since 2020, the National Trust Ecofund has had equipment and a trained team to organize these events thanks to the support of the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) of the Federal Government of the Republic of Germany. The NTEF team provides free screenings to various organizations in the country at their request.

At Cherni Osam on the evening of June 8, ten bicycles generated the energy needed to power the screen and sound system, and young and old got on the wheels helping to make it happen.

The event was made possible thanks to the museum’s partnership with NTEF and Central Balkan National Park. More friends of the museum joined this partnership.

The screenings included exciting video footage from a variety of sources. The Central Balkan National Park provided incredible footage that transported visitors into the wild. Also, thanks to the contribution of @karashkahouse, the mysterious wild animals of Stara Planina were revealed. The producer Biota Films provided the film for “Wildlife with Boris Nikolov”, and WWF Bulgaria allowed looking into the world of forests through films focusing on their beauty and importance.
