Invited by the Second English Language school in Sofia Tomas Jefferson on 11th May 2022 representatives of NTEF and the team of professors who developed the training materials for the educational programs, shared their experience with representatives of six European countries. The event was held in the frame of “Climate Change-raise awareness – take action” Project, implemented in partnership between Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Poland, Chechia and Slovenia supported by the EU Erasmus program.
The actions of the Bulgarian pupils as “energy managers” in their schools was demonstrated, as well as the philosophy of the whole program.
The presentation was delivered by Dr. Ivelina Kotzeva, professor at the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University, one of the co-authors of the teachers’ training materials for introduction of climate and energy knowledge in Bulgarian schools.
The participants received copies of the teachers’ training materials in English language as well as the created under the BEACON project comic book about climate action.
The National Trust Ecofund is implementing the initiative to work with Bulgarian schools and kindergarten, devoted to changing behavior towards climate friendly energy consumption since 2015. This initiative is supported by the Federal Ministry of environment of Republic of Germany in the frame of the European initiative for Climate (EUKI).
