Training for teachers, Burgas, 11-14.09.2019

Between 11th and 14th of November 2019 training for teachers in the scope of the BEACON project took place in Burgas. The participating teachers were from 15 Burgas schools and 1 Sofia school. They were trained in the topic of energy efficiency in schools in preparation of leading the energy teams in their schools. The project is supported by the German federal ministry of Environment in the scope of the European climate initiative (EUKI).

Other 134 teachers from 50 schools and kindergarten were trained in June in Sofia.

In all of the schools there are extracurricular activities, during which the students and the teachers take care of energy saving in the school, passing their knowledge on the topic to their classmates and families.

The training was organised by Burgas municipality, Regional unit for education Burgas, Center for personal development support Burgas and NTEF in cooperation with the National center for teachers’ qualification by the Ministry of Education and science.

The training was led by UfU (Berlin independent institute for the environment) – Tilman Abresch and Kristin Klasen, and Snezhana Tomova – professor in Biology from the Sofia University.
